Hello, Travel Lovers!
If you’re one of our followers, you know how passionate we are about discovering unique and cozy travel destinations that offer a sense of solace. These enchanting places envelop you in comfort and charm the moment you arrive, whisking you away to a realm of happiness and relaxation. They are so stunning and beautiful that you’ll never want to leave.
The truth is, finding these hidden gems isn’t easy. You can do all the research you want and browse countless photos and videos, but that doesn’t always lead to the perfect travel destination we yearn for. Like us, you may crave a place that offers a truly relaxing vibe—free from stress, noisy crowds, and distractions—a sanctuary that makes you feel blissfully distant from the world, even if it’s just for a few days.
We recently discovered an unexpected gem—a place where, as soon as you walk under the arches, you are transported to a special retreat. La Palmilla is a boutique resort
and garden center that transcends the ordinary. Located less than an hour’s drive from the vibrant markets of Dallas and Fort Worth, it offers a luxurious escape amidst the serene beauty of beautiful Spanish Colonial-inspired architecture and lush landscaping.
The resort prioritizes your comfort and cleanliness by using only the best non-toxic and fragrance-free cleaning products, ensuring that the entire environment is chemical-free. It’s a real experience tailored to accommodate a diverse range of travelers and events. Each guest’s needs are met, ensuring that every stay is memorable and charming, leaving you wanting to return.
The entire resort grounds function as a nature center, filled with beautiful plant life, vibrant colors, walking nature trails, a lovely pool area, and hot tubs. There are plenty of spots to enjoy the outdoors, including benches, chairs, table areas, and even fire pits where you can relax and enjoy dining al fresco.
If that’s not enough, you can visit The Casa Del Rey Chapel, which is stunning and breathtaking, leaving you literally speechless. As you walk through Casa del Rey, or “House of the King,” you will see representations of John’s encounter found in Revelation 4. This sacred space offers a place of worship and a transformative experience, guiding you through a profound spiritual narrative inspired by the celestial visions of the book of Revelation. It’s a place you might only hear about in dreams or see in movies. I was so moved that I sat in awe for an hour, simply enjoying its sheer beauty and magnitude. Let’s talk about the beautiful Casitas and Villas that make you feel like you’re in a small village in Mexico. Decorated with class, charm, and a cozy Spanish vibe, they provide a perfect escape from the world. Simply put, they are perfect.
You can choose from 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, or 3-bedroom options. Each unit features stunning Spanish tile floors, extra blanket pillows, and some even offer full kitchens. Amenities include a mini fridge, Nespresso machine with espresso pods, mugs, Toro Bravo steeped coffee, a hot water kettle, tea bags, and sugar. Each villa is unique, so be sure to check the website for full descriptions and available features.
Oh, how about La Fonda by the Brazos! If you love delicious food, you’ll appreciate this family-owned restaurant operated by a chef and his family. They prepare some of the freshest and most delicious meals you could ever dream of. I’m talking about pizzas, empanadas, hearty stacked sandwiches, tacos, and more. They can create just about anything using the freshest locally sourced vegetables and ingredients to craft unforgettable flavor profiles.
It’s truly a dream destination and a magical place you’ll never want to leave. Whether you’re a weekend wanderer, a couple planning a dream wedding, a weekday explorer, or a member of a church or nonprofit organization seeking a retreat, La Palmilla in Glen Rose is your perfect haven.
Glen Rose, Texas, is a small town known for its great shopping, restaurants, and charming town square. It was first settled by Charles Barnard in 1849, who established a trading post. Originally named Barnard’s Mill, the town was renamed Glen Rose in 1872 during a town meeting. The area’s history is notable for its early Anglo settlement, prehistoric human activity, and dinosaur history, evidenced by fossil footprints in the Paluxy River. Additionally, Glen Rose features historic architecture, including structures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
We love it there, and you will too. It’s officially approved as a “Trey’s Chow Down Ultimate Travel Destination.”
