Hello, Travel Hounds!

I’ve embarked on a five-year travel adventure, exploring unique and exciting places to stay in Texas. From luxurious high-rise suites and cozy private ranch casitas to innovative stacked container suites, there are even overnight accommodations in a stunning grain silo! If you think a grain silo is unusual, how about futuristic private pods overlooking the Texas Hill Country? The variety of options available is incredible. You can choose from historic lodgings, charming 1950s trailers, and suites once frequented by infamous gangsters. Additionally, there are suites that overlook the Dallas Cowboys practice field, AT&T Stadium or the Texas Rangers Ballpark. You certainly can’t forget one of the oldest inns in Texas, originally opened in 1860. As the second oldest continuously running inn or hotel in the state, travelers have parked their wagons, horses, or vehicles at this iconic inn for over 160 years.

Have you ever visited the Texas White House? How about spending the night in a 1960s presidential press room or enjoying wine at a castle in Texas? Even more intriguing, you can sip Texas wine while petting a rhinoceros named Blake. If that sounds wild, consider sleeping in a giraffe barn! If that isn’t adventurous enough for you, how about enjoying fresh-baked French pastries while admiring new Rolls Royce motor cars in the middle of a hotel lobby?

These locations offer a wide array of activities, including shopping, swimming, sightseeing, and interacting with wildlife and exotic animals. There’s truly something for everyone, regardless of budget, and I’m excited to share my discoveries! Again, don’t miss the chance to meet Blake, the sweet rhino, for some petting and a scratch. There’s genuinely something for everyone, and I can’t wait to share my experiences. ” I feel that traveling leaves you speechless and then turns you into a storyteller.”

Fox Good Day with Lauren Talking My Texas Travel Ideas

A few years ago, Jana and I had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Austin, an exceptional hotel nestled in the vibrant heart of North Austin, Texas. When someone inquired about other unique places we had recently experienced in Texas, I found myself lost in thoughtful reflection. As I relaxed in the bubbling embrace of the hot tub, savoring the smooth warmth of a Texas whiskey–affectionately known as “TX Whiskey”–and indulging in the rich aroma of a freshly cut cigar, inspiration struck me like a bolt of lightning.

In that idyllic moment, I resolved to pen an article for fellow travel enthusiasts around the globe, shining a spotlight on the marvelous and distinctive accommodations that Texas offers, each with its own story and charm. Our adventures had already taken us to some of the most intriguing destinations in Texas and beyond, as we curated a list of the BEST and UNIQUE 100 places to stay in the USA, spanning from the sun-soaked shores of Los Angeles to the vibrant streets of Miami.

After pondering our journey, I felt compelled to feature my beloved home state–the magnificent Lone Star State–first. Texas, with its rich tapestry of culture, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality, has so much to offer those who seek adventure and memorable experiences. Our BEST in the USA will be out by 2026 after some more travel so stay tuned for that one.
